a day with me, myself and i...

sometimes life gets too crazy and we forget to take some time for ourselves.
today when i woke up, i decided i wanted to spend the whole day out of my apartment and go shop and explore some parts of san diego.

Despite the fact that i had allergy attacks from this change of weather, and i backed up and hit a car =(, poor Zoe, it was a beautiful, spring-like day to just walk around and breath.

First Stop: Hillcrest, which is known to be the gay area in San Diego. Ive been here a couple of times for its trendy restaurants and bars, but have never had the chance to go around and shop.

This is a cute shoe store named Mints. (excuse my fingers, didn't wanna get caught)

Next Stops were: Buffulo Exchange where i got this purple dress and oversized shirt/dress. I went to this very beautiful vintage store named, Wear it Again Sam, its filled with high quality vintage clothes and accesories.. so beautiful, but not in my budget. Also went to Flashback which I will def go back to when halloween comes back.

(do u see the puppy?)

Then i decided to go head to North Park which is like 3 miles away from Hillcrest to see if i can find some good thrift stores. Unfortunatly, i got there at 3pm and most stores were closed on sundays or at 3pm.

But i did find this open store called, the International Discount Store where i meet this very enthusiastic manager. he instantly knew i was a first timer and asked me if i was japanese. i told him i was filipino and he was so happy because he loves filipinos and been to the philippines 3 times. he told me in enjoys the people because they have good hearts, but then he said he met this filipino lady and then invited her to his hotel and took her to dinner... hahaha you know what that means! ewee. but yah he was very friendly and said since i was filipino he would give me a discount.

Since it was such a hot day and i needed a break from my killer allergies, i stopped by at this cute cafe called, Heaven Sent Desserts. I got a mint chocolate frap, but there desserts look so tempted, but i had to resist.

Heading back to my car i found this.
"take my word for it"

After North Park, i felt that i wasn't finished with my shopping, so i decided to go to Fashion Valley!

I got some great deals in H&M and Forever, then walked around random stores to checked out what they offered. Just before 6 i was getting tired and decided it was time to go home.

In conclusion, it was a very lovely day that i dedicated to myself. i feel like sometimes we forget who we are from all of the challenges that life throws at us... lately i've been reflecting about the person i was, the person i am now, and the person i want to be. i realized that alot of what i expected to happen, didn't, and what i didn't expect, happened. its amazing how life does that to you.

hence one of my favorite quote: "The best things happen when they are least expected"
